About Kirsten
My mission is to empower students to discover their strengths and interests, develop confidence, and approach the future with clarity and purpose.
I’m a lifelong educator, certified career coach and Dartmouth College grad with deep expertise working with young adults and guiding them through successful transitions. I strive to ease the stress of the post-secondary planning process through strategic support every step of the way. As a former East High School business teacher and parent, I witnessed the tension that builds between students and families and the lack of direction many teens experience as they face graduation. I knew students and families deserved better, and launched my independent college consulting practice, College With Clarity, to transform the college planning journey from overwhelming to empowering.
I’ve created a unique program that helps students identify their strengths and interests and explore potential careers in order to approach college with clarity. We use this information to identity best-fit majors, programs and schools, and I help them gain experiences during high school to confirm interest and demonstrate intention when it’s time to apply.
I also tap into my 15+ years of experience in tech and start-up leadership roles to bring clarity to the process through effective project management skills. Communication and transparency are my north stars, and partnering with parents is key to my success.
I continue to partner with—and be mentored by—Johanna Baum of Objective Insight, a Princeton, NJ-based counselor with twenty years of experience. As an Associate Member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), I am committed to delivering high-quality, ethical guidance while continually developing my admissions expertise.
